Iβve had this for 1/2 a day and I really like it. We will see how it/the charger holds up as Iβve seen some people say it doesnβt last as long as it should. It was so easy to set up and had like 75% battery, then only took maybe 15 mins to fully charge. App is easy to navigate and frankly looks good. I did a small work out and itβs accurate with the steps so far. My mini stepper counts as well so I compared to that. All other vital signs seem to be in line with what my normal is too. Itβs comfortable, not heavy or thick. But still feels high quality, I was pleased pulling it out of the package.UPDATE: Itβs been over a week and I still like it. The battery wouldβve lasted just about 9 days, I charged it before it got to ~0%. Good enough for me. It charged quickly too, did some chores and it was done. I keep seeing reviews with the app being troublesome but I havenβt had any issues and I rather enjoy it. Thereβs a lot of information. I saw an update for it so maybe thatβs the issue??? The ring has been really comfortable, I did get the sizing kit and itβs worth waiting the extra day or two. I also see people complaining about the size when this company and other smart ring companies clearly state they donβt follow regular jewelry sizing. So truly size before you buy unless youβve owned one before. Stats are overall pretty accurate. I somewhat know what time I wake up randomly while sleeping and it does match with what the app says so I tend to believe the rest of it for sleep. Iβve counted off steps in my head and then looked at the app β if I walked 50 steps it logged 50 steps. All of my workouts have been detected, time/calories/steps, all there.Update #2: Itβs been 3 months now 1/10/26 and I still love it. I even got my mom to trade her Fitbit for one and she loves it. Maybe I got lucky but I havenβt really noticed a difference in my battery levels, even with the ring tracking more and more things 24/7. The only thing I do is not let it get to 0% itβs not really great for any battery to my knowledge. Iβve done multiple updates for the ring and app, no issues. Iβve only enjoyed the new features. Tracking still works, workouts are still detected and everything. Also, I hardly take it off and itβs less scratched than I thought honestly, and Iβm not careful. Overall, still 5 stars, still happy I ordered, still loving it.
The sleep tracking on the RingConn is my preferred feature. Being able to see the amount of times you wake up in the middle of the night and percentages of sleep stages such as light, deep, and REM is insightful.Iβm not sure how accurate the step count seems to be, it always reads more than what seems realistic. If you are looking for a product specifically to track steps, this may not be the way to go. However the health features such as blood oxygen level and heart rate are functional.Durable enough that everyday wear, even with working with my hands every day, has only left some scratching on the inside of the band. Looks a bit bulky on smaller fingers, but its functionality beats the aesthetic. I love mine, and so did my fiancΓ©, so he needed one too!And most importantly, NO EXTRA SUBSCRIPTIONS!!
I chose this ring over its more expensive competitor solely because reviewers here claimed the app was intuitive, informative and user friendly. To say I was shocked to discover none of those things were true would be an understatement. Fact of the matter is the app is not user friendly in the slightest and what little settings it has for you to customize don't even work! For example, I unchecked 24-Hour Clock which should have defaulted all clock settings and time reading displays within the app to 12-Hour format, right? Well, it does not! Unchecked or not, the app knows no other alternative - it only knows, operates from and displays the time in 24-Hour format!I highly recommend taking a look at the reviews for this app in the iOS AppStore because it's what I didn't do but should've done prior to purchasing. I let the reviews here sway me when I should've gone to the source. And boy, are the App reviews telling. One of the reoccurring "cons" stated in reviews here about the competitor ring is that their app requires a monthly subscription fee to use. This "con" was very effective in making this ring look like the more appealing option - even more so because the competitor ring AND its ring sample kit are already priced higher than this ring, so naturally one would be paying a lot more for that ring not just upfront but longterm. This ring being the cheaper - the actual ring itself as well as its ring sizing kit - of the two with a subscription-free app to boot would no doubt seem like the better buy!Obviously I didn't buy the other ring so I can't tell you if that ring is what it claims to be or if its $5 monthly subscription fee is worth it, but what I can tell you is the free-of-charge $0 app for this ring is so awful you couldn't pay me to use it. So I guess I got what I paid for in that I paid nothing for the app and it gave me NOTHING in return. The app is the main component to this ring. Without a good app this ring is worthless. Now, let's get into the ring itself because before I even discovered how horrible the app was I had to unbox the ring, and in unboxing the ring I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it looked in the Dune colorway - the only good thing I have to say about this ring - and eagerly put it on just to discover it was too big! Did I mention I purchased the ring sizing kit? Sure it only cost a $1 to the competitor's $10 but still... what's the point of offering the sizing kit if the sizes don't actually align?!At that point I hadn't known what was to come with the app itself so I was planning on ordering another ring in the size down. Good thing I didn't because it ultimately wouldn't have mattered with the state of the app. I only make note of this to point out that even with the first impression being an ill fitted ring I was still excited and looking forward to getting the ring set up and running because truth be told I had been looking forward to the delivery of this ring all week! I'm genuinely so bummed that THIS ended up being my experience with it.If you're still reading, the lesson to be had here is choosing the cheaper option is not always the deal you think it is, and in this case it was very much a bad deal. That's not to say the more expensive competitor ring is the better deal because for all I know that ring's app could be just as mediocre but ultimately I don't know and honestly have no intention of finding out anytime soon. All I can say for sure is this ring's ring sizing kit is inaccurate and this ring's app is a whole joke so don't be fooled like I was.1 obligatory yet deserving star for the dune color and nothing else.Update: I've now worn this ring across two different fingers for about a week's time each and both fingers spurred blisters beneath the ring. It should also be noted that my initial sizing issue hadn't been an issue of the ring being too small but rather too big, so I can't even write off the blistering to it being too small for my fingers because it's not.Additionally, Iβve also found the charge doesnβt last nearly as long as advertised. For example, after a full charge the app told me I had 9 days of battery life remaining. When I checked in on the app 4 days later following a workout I was surprised to find nothing from that session had been logged because the ring was deadβ¦ 1 1/2 days dead, which I hadnβt realized as I hadnβt checked in on the app the day prior! Also strange, the step counter is crazy inconsistent and the calorie counter is just broken as it never really changes much. I tested in comparison to my iPhoneβs Apple Health data and itβs way off some. It will say I burned 400 calories with less than 200 steps and then if the steps reach 5k the calorie counter only grows by 10 or something. Make it make sense!
First, make sure you purchase the ring size kit. Its like a $1.97 and when your done you can return it. I did a lot of research on smart rings and this one and its sister ring came out to be the best option for price and functionality. And the best part is you don't need a subscription!!! It was easy to set up with the app. I have apple products, and it is fully compatible with iPhone and apple health. The ring is lasting about 9-10 days on a full charge and it will notify you on phone when its time to charge. The product is also durable based on my use. It does scratch (on the bottom more but that's expected) I am also rough on it. I also keep it on while in the pool and ocean with no issues as its waterproof. I love that it tracks activity and best of all the sleep tracking. I hate wearing my ultra watch3 to bed so this is perfect. And it looks like its accurate with the data. I couldn't be happier, I will buy another if and when this one kicks the can or they update the current version.
Disclosure: This is my first smart ring. I am a triathlete. I have had other Fitbits and $500+ Garmin watches that track my sleep and daily activities and exercises. Therefore, this review I will be somewhat comparing with the Fitbit and Garmin devices.I have done lots of research on smart rings before buying this one. I like the style of it that I can wear it as a promise ring for my fiancΓ©. The best thing is that it is subscription-free.Β Fit: I bought the RingConnβs ring kit to try first. I aim to wear it on my left ring finger and I was between a size 8 and 9. It was a tough choice but I went with size 8 (after returning the size 9 because it was too loose). In the colder days I can remove the ring with some twisting and turning. But in warmer days, my finger swells, so I usually rinse my hand under cold water, apply some body wash/soap, and it can easily be removed. If I had gone for size 9, it would have been loose for me. Also, donβt trust the sizing kit completely. I had to return the real ring size 9 even though the sample ring size 9 fitted me great. I ended up with size 8.Form: I like it that the diameter is not too wide. It looks like a wedding band but slightly wider. I got the silver one and it looks great.Heart rate monitoring: the ring takes your HR once every 5 minutes. It gives you a HR range for that 5 minute (e.g. 51~55 bps).SpO2: it takes it once every 30 minutes. It gives you a range (e.g. 95~96%).Heart rate variability (HRV): it takes every 30min. It gives you a wide range (e.g. 30~50ms).Skin temperature: looks okay to me. It gives me a temp every night.Respiratory rate (bpm): it just gives you an average range without a graph to deep dive.All-day stress index: it gives you a number every 30 minutes, for the entire day. It gives you a score throughout the day.Sleep: (1) the total time asleep for the past 7 days has been slightly off. The ring is about 50/50 chance it knows when I start sleeping. Waking up seems accurate though. (2) The sleep stages: it gives me how many minute I was awake, in REM, having light sleep, and in deep sleep. I canβt say the accuracy of it but comparing to my garmin and fitbit, the range is a bit off. Garmin says I have 3hr8m of REM while RingConn says I have 1hr42m. Garmin says I had 1hr1m Deep sleep while RingConnsays I had 1hr55m. Garmin says I had 4h23m Light sleep while RingConn says I had 4h48m. And Garmin says I was awake for 3min while RingConn says 5min.Steps: it tracks steps pretty accurately. Compared to my Garmin, out of 10k steps, the difference is maybe 200-400 steps. Same goes with running.Sports: the steps and heart rate actually pretty decent for running. If you are more into accurate with heart rate during exercising, go with Garmin heart rate straps. For cycling, forget about it; the ring tracks the heart rate very poorly and it doesnβt track steps because you are cycling. I donβt even want to try pool swimming.Β Overall, I will most likely continue to wear it daily. The app has lots of data and graph to go through. For the price, I am not expecting it to be as good as garmin but I think it does a great job with room to improve. I have showered with it, hand wash with it, and I accidentally dropped it from my waist level. It is still working fine. The battery does run for at least 7 days and more with one charge. I didnβt need the sleep apnea detection. As mentioned, they have room to improve. Donβt expect it will do everything perfectly. Thatβs why this is the Gen 2.
